New York Steinways have had some quality issues from time to time over the years (late 1960's to 1080's) and the quality of M&H pianos varied over the years based on the ownership.
I'm a fan of both Steinway and M&H pianos. It's just a matter of personal preference and finding the right instrument. Honestly, you're considering some of the best pianos in their class. I had that put in my Steinway B when I had the action redone a couple of years ago.
